Coming this summer: Prius plug-in conversion kits
This summer, US Prius owners will be able to power their vehicles from the grid. Hymotion has announced a plug-in conversion kit for the North American market. There is no indication that European customers will be able to share the joy any time soon.
Autoblog Green reports that the lithium ion battery pack "fits into any second generation (2004-2008) Prius. The pack can be fully charged in 4.5 hours at 100V and Hymotion claims a converted Prius will get up to 100mpg [42 km per litre] for 30-40 miles [48-64 km]."
