Project (ongoing): Public Transport bicycle (Netherlands)

A member-based bicycle sharing system, dubbed OV-Fiets (or PT (Public Transport) Bicycle) is a solution that helps travellers to bridge the last part of their trips from public transport hub to their final destinations.

At this moment bicycles can be had at almost 200 locations around the country, mostly at public transportation hubs, but also at park&ride locations, city centres and a handful of office parks.

Once registered at OV-Fiets, at any of these locations a member can pick up a bicycle (or two if needed) without any hassle. Membership card and bicycle need to be scanned and off the renter goes. At some locations, hiring out bicycles is fully automated. The annual subscription fee is EUR 9.50, rental fee is EUR 2.85 per 20 hours, and the maximum rental period is 60 hours. Payment occurs automatically each month.

Membership of OV-Fiets is included for those who have a Dutch Railways business card or a Mobility Card (a card that can be used for any - or a combination - of available non-private mobility solutions).
