Clean and Efficient Programme
The Clean and Efficient programme (Schoon en Zuinig) lays out the national government's ambitions towards energy efficiency, sustainable energy production.
The programme describes how the Netherlands is aiming to have one of the most effi cient and cleanest energy systems in Europe by the year 2020. It is coordinated by the Ministry of the Environment (VROM) and it is based on a sectoral approach. One of the sectors for which a tailor-made approach is currently under way is mobility, logistics and infrastructure. In a Sectoral Agreement, expected to be signed within a short time span, industry, governments and civil society organisations will agree upon the implementation of a package of far-reaching measures.
