Vägverket
The Swedish Road Administration is the national authority assigned the overall responsibility for the entire road transport system, including the over-all sustainability.
At its website, it stipulates its task as "to co-operate with others to develop an efficient road transport system in the direction stipulated by the Swedish Government and Parliament. We have been commissioned to create a safe, environmentally sound and gender-equal road transport system that contributes to regional development and offers individuals and the business community easy accessibility and high transport quality."
