klima:aktiv
The klima:aktiv programme is one of the Austrian government's most prominent initiatives to support a swift and broad introduction of climate friendly techniques and services.
The klima:aktiv programme was initiated in 2004 by the Austrian ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management (Lebensministerium) as a part of the country's over-all strategy for climate protection.
The Austrian Energy Agency implements the programme and coordinates the various measures with regard to all four themes, of which one is mobility.
Within mobility, the programme has seven areas of interest:
- Mobility management for companies
- Mobility management for local communities
- Mobility management related to spatial planning (where to locate various amenities, companies, et cetera)
- Mobility management for schools and youth
- Mobility management for tourism and leisure time activities
- Mobility mangement for governments
- Eco driving
