Hydrogen buses to implode?
In California an experiment with buses powered by fuel cells running on hydrogen is being critisized for being way too expensive.
In general pilot projects with hydrogen powered buses seem to have a hard time resulting in commercially viable operations, as is shown by the large number of CUTE and HYFLEET:CUTE projects that are being halted without a clear perspective on continuation. Are these just start-up problems of a new technology or is it more significant? One thing is sure, the future will provide the answer.
