Project (planned): 50 MINI E cars (Berlin, Germany)
As of spring 2009, BMW and Vattenfall - with the help of the Federal Ministry for the Environment - will jointly introduce 50 EVs, as well as publicly accessible charging stations.
Mr Sigmar Gabriel, Federal Minister for the Environment explains that "electro-mobility is the future”, at a press conference in Berlin. "Further we have to take care that electric vehicles are able to use renewable energy. Only if we achieve that, we have zero-emission vehicles in the whole stream. The Vattenfall BMW project is setting new standards for protecting the environment and reaching a broad audience not only in Berlin, but in all of Germany. That is the reason why we gladly support these efforts," as
can be read on the Vattenfall website.
