Honda bets on nickel for now
Yesterday we reported on the oncoming era of lithium-ion batteries for hybrid and electrical vehicles. Honda is not that convinced of the new generation batteries' short-term potential and bets on proven technologies for its next generation hybrid. This hybrid is supposed to give the Prius a very hard time.
Honda's Fukui tells Automotive News reporter Hans Greimel how he thinks about not choosing for lithium-ion right away: "There's a word in Japanese, soukon, for people who decide to get married too soon," he said. "It's like marrying a girl who's only 13. You don't know how that girl will turn out as a lady." Well, that's surely the best reason to not marry a thirteen-year-old we've heard in years.
