Leading UK businesses share carbon management guide

Eight leading UK companies and the University of Cambridge have set up a practical guide for successful greenhouse gas reduction management. Best of it all: you can download it for free.

The guide (download link below) was developed by a taskforce of business leaders and managers from eight leading companies from the UK, amongst which British Telecom (BT), EDF Energy and Royal Mail, in cooperation with the University of Cambridge.

Carbon management guide

Whether your organisation's primary objective for engaging in carbon management is to cut costs, increase employee satisfaction, meet consumer demand or prepare for compliance to current and future regulation and business-to-business demands, the guide is a must-read. It takes you through the steps needed to succesfully manage your organisation’s greenhouse gas emissions, including emissions resulting from transportation.

Although written from a UK perspective, the guide’s basic principles apply to any organisation interested in managing carbon emissions in cooperation with suppliers or purchasers.

In short, the guide takes you through:

  • What carbon management is all about and why it is worth doing;
  • How to measure your carbon emissions;
  • How to reduce them;
  • What managament systems are needed to support carbon management; and
  • How to extend carbon management down your supply chain.

Kudos to these companies to make such valuable information available to anyone interested in such a comprehensible way. Highly recommended!
