London move makes Porsche unhappy

"Get ready for a proper old-fashioned scrap. Porsche is gunning for Ken Livingstone over his plans to increase the top-end congestion charge... and we can't see either camp backing down."

Together with Topgear, we've managed to get a front-row chair to witness Porsche's frontal attack on London's plans to charge highly-emitting (> 225 grams CO2 per kilometre) vehicles the full price (a whopping 25 GBP) for entering the congestion charge zone.

Well, it's about time some real financially discriminatory steps are taken to stimulate less-emitting behaviour. However, if you plan to enter the congestion charge zone with your 210 hp Audi A6 2.8 V6 FSI you're still well under the 225g limit, so it's really just the happy few that feel the pain (on second thought, will they feel anything at all...?). And importantly, will it make any difference at all?

I think the Audi A6 that you mention falls within the category of average sized family cars nowadays.
If you include these within the heavy polluters spectrum, hell will break loose! ;). It's good they start with the real big ones, making clear to the industry they better get a move on.
